Hi, I have a simple question…how would I prevent the creation of new layers everytime I cut and paste? New layers keep popping up and its getting annoying trying to keep flattening the image. I just want to work with the background

Thanks

Just hit Ctrl-E (on Mac Command-E)each time you Paste. But really, far better to learn to deal with the layers. It is a much better way to work.

You don’t. A paste creates a new layer.

There is no need to keep flattening; if you save the image in a format that does not support layers, it will flatten as it saves automatically.
