I just stumbled accross the resize wizard. Is there any downside to using it ? I’m starting from 6MP images

For print images does it embed a ICC profiles ?

PS CS doesn’t have a wizard of any kind. Resize or otherwise.

They hid it….

Help -> Resize Image

The dialog box that pops up is titled "Resize Image Wizard"

Not in Photoshop CS it isn’t. You must be talking about Photoshop Elements. In Photoshop CS it is called Image Resize. The full version of Photoshop does not have a single wizard in it.

I also just checked Photoshop Elements 3 and its Image Resize isn’t called a wizard either. So at this point I have no idea what you are talking about.

Gee WHIZ… there most certainly is a ‘wizard’.
See: Help -> Resize Image
It pops up and says "Wizard".

Got it now?

CS does NOT have it but older versions did. (and yes it was under HELP, go figure!)
I think it was not needed after we got Image Ready built in. the image resizer was good to help noobs resize for print or web without having to know anything about resolutions, file sizes etc. Basically it saves a version of your image for export without saving over your original. So the original question of "is it bad" answer is no, just a helper if you don’t want to select or don’t know how to select the proper image size for your purpose.

My CS certainly does have it. Both V8 and V9.
Post your version numbers. Maybe there are two different versions out there. Or maybe you are out of your mind.
Choose one. Be happy.

when I click the HELP in CS it does not pop up a wizard, it opens the browser and shows adobe help on how to do it.
version 8.0
I cannot see any wizards there. I have never used the HELP in this version anyway. 😉 I’m beyond help anyway LOL.
