For quite a while I was running Photoshop 7 on a Win 98 SE computer. The driver for my HP Deskjet 960c printer gave me the option of printing to a number of pre-set sizes of paper. In addition, I could specify "custom size" or some name like that, and then I could specify the exact height and width of the paper to be printed.

Now I am running Photoshop 7 on a WinXP HomeEd computer. When I try to set the paper size, I can only chose between the pre-set sizes but there is no longer any way to specify a size not on the list. As far as I know, I am using the correct HP driver for WinXP.

Before I spend $30 on what could prove a fruitless phone call to HP, I’m wondering whether anybody in this forum has an answer to this problem.

yes but did you check. Most home computers use the come-with XP drivers. The printer will function but not have any specific features. I use Epson. The on-board drivers for XP do not show any of the advanced features for my model like the ink levels, or special types of papers for my printer. I have to download and install the driver for my model.

If you have the correct printer installed you should see more options in Photoshop next time.
Is "Print with Preview" in that version of PS? I can make custom sizes of paper in that interface under page setup or in my printer driver interface.

HP has a very super simple free website wizard to install drivers for you, I used it on my friend’s comp. I would do that first.
