Adobe updates freezing my computer…

Hi, I have InDesign 2.0 on my computer (G5 with OSX). the past couple of days, when trying to open the software it’s automatically trying to download updates and the computer freezes, there’s no way around i but restarting…any ideas of whats happening?… thanks, rin.

A well known bug with Adobe. You need to disable updating. If you are on a broadband connection of some kind that means disconnecting the cable and starting ID. Under Preferences>Online Settings set to Never update. Then reconnect to the internet.

Easier way. Before installing block all outgoing connections with your firewall. Then disable updating as above.
