This is a problem I have not had prior to using PSCS and I am sure I am missing something (I used PS 6 and 7 prior to PSCS).
I want EXIF data to be passed along with the image file whether I process it or not–primarily to an online gallery (Pbase.com). In the past I had no trouble and Pbase showed the EXIF data below the image after upload. This was so regardless of the processing which includes RAW conversion (from a Canon DSLR), processing, conversion to 8 bit, resizing, USM, applying my frame action, conversion to sRGB, save as jpeg at 9 quality and then upload.
I believe I had no problem with the RAW plugin (which I bought last March), but can’t remember since I’ve used C1LE (Capture One Light Edition) for RAW conversion for a good while–and have used Breezebrowser prior to that primarily. I am STILL able to retain EXIF if I convert with CILE–thus telling me FOR SURE that it has something to do with the PSCS RAW conversion. I am sure I am missing a preference or setting somewhere. All I have been able to find is reference to .xmp files–and I’m still not sure if this refers to the settings I apply during RAW conversion OR the EXIF files. It seems to imply that it stores the settings you have used for the particular image (see manual page 71). So–though it is useful at times to use the PS RAW–I may forgo it entirely and always use C1LE—which is probably my preference for RAW conversion anyhow–but now I’m on THE quest for understanding why I’m losing the EXIF in PS RAW conversion LOL.
