I currently use Photoshop CS with no problems.

I downloaded a trial version of CS2 to see if the improvements were worth the upgrade.

When starting Abode Bridge it is taking 40 seconds plus to load. Just checking if this is normal or I may have a problem somewhere. Have 1Gb of memory and 2 160Gb drives with an AMD Athlon 2.4 processor.

I use a 4-year-old laptop. 512 MB, 850 MH, 30 GB built-in drive with software & scratch space + 250 GB drive on USB 2 holding image files.

CS2 Bridge takes between about 10 and 25 seconds to load, depending on various factors. (I leave it pointing at a folder without images in before exiting, to speed up next load. I also use a distributed cache, and don’t hold settings in the database, but I don’t know if that makes any difference).

Barry thanks for that comment. Just tried and it makes quite a difference. –

Yep, Bridge is unacceptably slow. Adobe should release their assembler coders on that POS Bridge and make it as fast as the OS so that it becomes the center of the suite instead of the dim bastard-child that it is.

Mine takes 2 – 3 seconds to open.

How do you manage that? Even opening on an empty folder is sloooow, and I have a whiz-bang system.

No idea. I’m opening to a folder with 15 images. P4 3.2, 2 GB RAM. WinXP Pro.

After a restart I think Bridge takes about 10 seconds to load but subsequent loads are just over 2 seconds.

That’s because you’re loading it from memory cache, not from disk.
