Well you did ask the most stupid of questions

What is better .. Apple of Intel, ford or holden, nikon or canon

It’s all subjective ..

Next time engage brain THEN sit at keyboard…. and don’t try and insult others because of your own lack of forethought.

But your response is any more intelligent? He is asking an OPINION of the parties who post here. I am sure that different people feel the different systems (INTEL vs. MAC) have advantages. Up until fairly recently almost all graphics pros used MACS.

These days it makes little difference. Applications function the same (or damn close to it) on either machine, so it becomes a matter of personal choice. Old die hards will swear Macs are better for graphics, but these days that statement simply isn’t true. I use Macs at work and still prefer my Athlon based PC at home.

If you are mainly operating as a home hobbiest, you may be better with PC. Not because of anything to do with graphics, but because there are more other types of applications available to PC owners than there are for Macs. Most internet based activities are also geared more to the PC user. Also, more games & so on.

If you work professionally with graphics and are receiving customer files, the majority of files you receive from clients will dictate your choice. Probably the biggest issue you face will be fonts. Mac fonts don’t work on PC & vice-versa. Even this isn’t the end of the world as there are good font converters out there. The advent of Open Type is overcoming this, however full compatability is a long way off for most. So far as files go (barring the font issue). Mac Photoshop files will open quite nicely on a PC and PC files will open on a Mac. As will files from other apps, such as Illustrator, Quark etc.

Macs are generally more expensive than an equivalent PC. Once again, it’s a personal decision.

I will have to see what works best for me and hate doing that with little hands on.. I appreciate the people who put out their experiences.. Right now I am leaning towards 3.2 p4 hypertreading laptop it prices out at 2300 from dell or gateway or alianware… Thanks for you alls help.. if i go desktop Becausse this desktop is good enough not to change. PDF making and harddrive seeks are the slowest things I do on here. So I will go with apple and a apple monitor if i go Desktop.Due to keeping my older pc for a while if I go with Apple. Apple scares me due to only being niche machine and small market machine *why*, and having such a limited amount of experience on one.

Good Evening and Will not post anymore would not want this to happen again. LOL

Mark and Mindy

Thanks again!!!!

It’s a nothing question.People who use Macs will say Macs. People who use {PCs will say PCs. People with intelligence who use either will say neither,

This statement is a misconception, for many years the "pros" have used a mixture of both as each has it’s advantage.

then again .. the real "pro’s" use SG don’t they?

Correct. There is no correct answer to that question.
