Why does it take so long for version 8 to start up, compared to earlier 6 and 7, or is it my PC ?

CS takes a long time to load because it assumes you are a thief and checks your machine to see if you really are one
This is the new Adobe way!

ps: did you know you can use this nice big field to post your questions?

Stupid way to bring a new product:
Why not being honest giving a message " This is a try out version so we make it slow, the original is fast"
I ‘m really (!) a registered user of v 7 and lower but not every upgrade is that wonderful and worth the money.
So I was trying out a ”stolen” CS version first and was decided not to buy because it’s that slow !
I hope the Adobe sales team will read this!
But are you sure the original CS is fast (normal) with starting up?

btw what do you mean with
ps: did you know you can use this nice big field to post your questions?

He means you can use the body of the posting for your question rather than the subject line.

Personally, I think he’s just being a pedant. Do it however works best for you as long as you keep the subject line reasonably short…

No I am not sure at all, but who knows…

Just meant that you should not post an entire question in the subject line of your post
Post in this field.

OK I’m using Agent 2 and a 1600×1200 screen; so the lenght is not a problem for me, next time i’ll make the line shorter.

You’re not to blame with your large monitor. Its those guys with the short tools that should feel impotent. 🙂
