Hello all,

I was hoping to get some help with a long standing question of mine. I have two copies of photoshop 7, one on a work terminal connected to a network and one on a personal computer. For aproximately six months I have been attempting to find a method to transfer a custom action between the two copies. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For aproximately six months I have been attempting to find a method to transfer a custom action between the two copies.

This is described in the Help files, just save a set in a directory, move to the other machine and open there … here are the details for CS from Help, I don’t think it has changed in several versions so you should be able to do this with V 7 …

To save a set of actions:
Select a set.
Choose Save Actions from the Actions palette menu.
Type a name for the set, choose a location, and click Save. You can save the set anywhere. However, if you place the file in the
Presets/Photoshop Actions folder inside the Photoshop program folder, the set will appear at the bottom of the Actions palette menu after you restart the application.

To load a set of actions (after moving to the 2nd computer):

Do one of the following:
Choose Load Actions from the Actions palette menu. Locate and select the action set file, and then click Load. (In Windows, Photoshop action set files have the extension .atn.)
Select an action set from the bottom of the Actions palette menu.

Six months is a long time to not think of typing Help then "save actions". "Load actions" works, too. So does just Actions.

If you put a copy in the Photoshop Actions folder in the Presets folder the action set will appear on the flyout dropdown menu and you won’t even need to Load Actions.
