I will be installing Photoshop 7 onto another computer altogether. Previously when I did this I lost all my actions – which are all resize/file/etc commands. I have tried copying over the actions which are stored in the \documents and settings\adobe\ hierarchy, but I never succeed in copying them. Nor can I see a file name in the photoshop program folder which shouts at me "I am the actions files" !!!

Has anyone else transferred their actions from one install to another?

Yes, lots of times. They are cross-platform too.

They are .atn files and they reside mainly in the Actions folder in the Presets folder, though they can be saved anywhere. And that’s the key. From the flyout arrow menu in the Actions palette choose Save Actions. Save the sets somewhere and then you can transfer them to disk, e-mail them, whatever.

You should periodically save your actions as you make new ones or download new ones.
