When I scan an old B&W print, the digitized photo contains little white specks throughout it. I have looked at the print, and these "dust spots" are not present. What I did notice, however, is the the print contains a semi-rough surface. It is kind of mottled. It has neither a matter nor a glossy finish, just this kind of bumpy surface. Otherwise, the photo is quite good.

Is there any way to get rid of these white specks in PS7?

Thanks.

Pedro

hey pedro,

Could be some dust is on your scanner……the best way IMHO to get rid of these spots is using the "dust and scratches" filter under Noise. It might give you a SLIGHT blur tho…but nothing to offensive i think.
