Hello,

I recently used the gretag macbeth software to make a scanner profile. I placed the profile file where the other Photoshop profiles are on my computer. C:/winnt/system32/spool/drivers/color. However, the profile shows up in the Assign Profile menu and the Proof Colors menu, BUT not in the Convert to Profile menu. I’m confused.

Also, I tried this on my Mac as well with no success. Any help would be appreciated.

Shaune,
It looks like Photoshop is preventing you from making a mistake and converting your image to the scanner profile. It is appropriate ( indeed probably the only use of the scanner profile ) to "assign" it to the image, and then convert the image to your working space profile. Profiles are different in purpose and the application recognizes it.
