should I uninstall before I reboot
Why would you want to do that?
Questions:
Which version of Windows do you have?
Do you normally shut down and boot up every day?
Have you suddenly started getting error messages?
Can you quote one to us?
Sorry Colin, I meant reinstall not reboot.
I have WindowXP pro
I just started getting not just error messages but serious problems like: Dragging from one image to another doesn’t work…the image being dragged disappears. When I open Photoshop with a Photoshop graphic, Photoshop opens but the graphic doesn’t. I have to use FILE>Open to get it.
Copy – paste works only sometimes.
I am getting, very often, the message…"Photoshop is not responding" The last error message I received was (and this is not a direct quote) "…can’t locate the font we suggest you reinstall Photoshop…" Of course the font was created with the same software.
Sooo, should I resinstall and if so, should I uninstall first. Thank you,
Sam
I think you should quote us an EXACT error message. Also run scandisk with the fix all option.
dave
Of course the font was created with the same software
Wonder what that means? ….
I would do the following [after following Dave’s advice]: – delete prefs [see FAQ]
– uninstall
– re-install
Well, I uninstalled Phothsop and reinstalled it and my problem are worse. Here’s what’s happening.
1. I can’t drag and drop from one image to another
2. The MOVE tool sticks to an image
3. Can’t enlarge or decrease an image using Control T
4. The sliders don’t work
5. Layers Styles don’t work
I’m wondering if these problems pertain to Windows.
Also, I can’t find FAQs to delete prefs. Can you tell me how. Thanks, I appreciate your help.
Sam
The FAQ should be easy enough to find, but here’s the summary:
Start PS and immediately after clicking hold down CTRL-ALT-SHIFT, the respond to the dialog.
I think it very likely that this will help. Hope so!
The FAQ should be easy enough to find,
and here it is! 🙂

Wow,
That worked. My PS is like new.
Thanks guys,
Sam
And you didn’t really believe us did you? 🙂
Glad you’re sorted.
