Has anyone heard anything about Adobe now crippling its new releases? I was watching a news special which said that new versions of Photoshop apparently disables an artisits ability to scan images of currency or anything that looks like currency. Tapestries, stamps, wood cuts apparently are also affected. Can anyone confirm this? If this is true, which version did this start at?

Many thanks

Frank

I’ll confirm the currency thing if you provide a credible source regarding the "Tapestries…and wood cuts" I can read.

Frank, as far as we know it appears to be currency only. There is a thread on this in the Photoshop Lounge link at the top of this forum page. It is already up to 1123 messages and climbing. You can read all the details there. Rgds, MM

Hi Phosphor,

Thank you for your reply. The comments regarding tapestries, wood cuts etc. was a discussion, it was not something I had read. But if true this would be very disappointing not to mention frustrating. I am sure somewhere there is a money angle as in ‘you can buy the images from us’.

Thank you for the reply.

cheers

The angle is, there is an "approved source" for currency images. From what I’ve seen they do not look like currency except in the broadest of terms and you certainly wouldn’t use one of those when creating something for a client.

Can anyone else see the lounge forum using a newsreader and Usenet? I can see the Mac Lounge group, but that is all.
