I designd an A4 size flyer for print in PS7 now i have decided i want this design for my business card also, I flattened the image and resized it to business card size (9cm x 5.5cm 300 pixles/inch)and it looks fine on the computer screen My question is probably silly but are there any problems associated with resizing like this? will it look fine when printed? Also should i design something for print @ 300 pixels/inch OR 300 pixles/cm??? Thanks for the help.

There’s only problems when sizing up, not down. And 300 pixels per inch is standard for printing.

Sizing down does soften imagery just a little. I think the bicubic-sharper interpolation method is supposed to be better for downsampling, but that’s only in CS isn’t it?

While that may be the common perception it is not technically accurate; the optimum resolution of a digital image is wholly dependent on the output device. 300 ppi is the standard for printing with a 150 lpi halftone; print something at 85 lpi (such as in a newspaper) and you can get away with 170 ppi with no visible degradation of the image.
