Hi,

I use Photoshop Elements 3.0. I want to create a large number of very small sized (~8k) thumbnails to put on a webpage. I know how to use ‘Process Multiple Files’ to shrink my large JPEG file and convert the smaller image to another format, say GIF. I want to make my thumbnails 160 pixels wide, and this usually results in file sizes of around 18K in GIF format.

I know that I can make the thumbnails smaller in file size by using ‘Save For Web’ and selecting GIF options (e.g. Restrictive colors and dithering) to reduce the size to about 8K, which is acceptible. But I can only do this for a single file.

How do I select GIF options like restrictive colors and dithering for processing multiple files (batch-style)?

Thanks, Eric

I don’t know about elements, but I suggest you download and try the free app Irfanview
http://www.irfanview.com/
I have CS but I prefer Irfanview for ease of use – there are numerous settings options.
