I don’t get it. Was pressure put on him to R/O it? Or was it that he was bored with the "digressions"?
Sigh.
Or was it that he was bored with the "digressions"?
It grew a little low on content and high on bluster.
My theory is that if I post something to a potentially controversial thread, even if my post has nothing to do with anything–especially that, I suppose–the thread will be made R/O within two hours.
Sad really, somehow the message has to be put through with the minimum of fuss. But HOW can the message be put through WITHOUT fuss if it is made pertinent. It seems to defeat the purpose.
Please remind me to stop watching all those "Winston Churchill" Movies on the History Channel

P.S. Give us ALL the performance of V7 without the additional CĀ®@P

Aaaaaaaargh!!!
They’re ba-a-a-a-ck!!!!
Hi Fred,
All most of us want is a program that works for us the way that earlier versions worked. Fast performance and without the new "features" which limit our productivity.
In my case the activation thing prevents me from running PSCS at all in spite of all the help that Adobe gave me. (And Adobe worked very hard on trying to get my copy going, and I appreciate it very much). We just don’t like honest people to be made to suffer, while the crooks keep on doing what they’ve always done. The only ones these new features hurt are those who are honest. They don’t hurt the crooks. (Sorry Adobe, I really can understand why you don’t want your software to be pirated, but I was hurt by the activation thing, and it has limited my productivity very much).
In other honest users’ cases, the anti-counterfeiting thing stops them from doing some of their work without it involving extra steps.
In all users’ cases, if this is what is slowing PS down, then it is hurting all of us.
Basically we just want PSCS to work as well as previous versions on all of our machines.
There are also some of us who don’t particularly like having unknown code on our machines. It is code that Adobe has said they don’t know know a lot about. (I don’t know the exact phrase that Adobe used, but it was something like that). We are also disturbed by the fact that this small step may lead to other restrictions in future versions. It could be like the small trickle of water that starts through a tiny crack in the dam.
My biggest issue is still the fact that I can’t use my legal version of PSCS, but I am disturbed by the other issue as well.
Kathi
Kathi,
Eloquently put.
However, I think that most of us, Adobe included, get the message after over 1200 posts.
Just so that I’m not seen to be further perpetuating this thing – exit, stage left.
Fred.
the thread will be made R/O within two hours.
Well since this hasn’t been made R/O yet, it looks like what you posted is relevant, AND not controversial.
Gratz!
<grin>

Did you reformat your box? I would if I couldn’t run my 600 dollar sw for the last 6 months.
