Hello.

When I try to launch Photoshop from within Capture or Nikon Editor, Photoshop 7 starts and it displays a "New" dialog box with "_automation -embedding" in the "Name:" field and a preset size of 8×10.

At this point, Capture (or Editor) has displayed a message "Photoshop was not found. Please make sure that Photoshop 5.0 or higher or Photoshop Elements 2.0 or higer is installed on this machine Note: Photoshop 5.0 LE is not compatible with this feature".

Capture (or Editor) is now locked up and has to be killed through the task list.

Photoshop is just sitting there with a blank window/workspace open that is titled "_automation -embedding". It can be closes down normally just fine.

This occurs while trying to launch 8-bit or 16-bit images from Capture/Editor to PS.

I have uninstalled/reinstalled Capture, NikonView and Photoshop in various sequences. No joy.

This appeared to have started when I upgraded to Photoshop 7. Everthing worked fine in Photoshop 6.

Finally, if I go into NikonView Browser, select a thumbnail and then select "Photoshop" from the "Edit" button, Photoshop starts up just fine. Go figure.

Any solutions would be GREATLY appreciated…

-Mike
