Vic,

Is that definitely 115 and not 113?

LenHewitt,

Yes, it’s 115 definitely. I had taken down note when the dialogue box was prompted. Appreciate your help on this. Thnx!

Vic,

I haven’t even got that file on my machine…….

Error 113 is quite common, but I haven’t come across 115 before – and can find no reference to it in the knowledgebase.

Thanks. I work with install shield. I’m a bit nervous because at my request we’re FINALLY moving from IS 5.5 to IS 9! If they’d upgraded all along as I kept asking I’d only have a bit to learn. As it is, I now need to relearn the whole app! Looks like fun though! 🙂

Gents,

Thanks for your responses. I actually tried it as per your given advices but still the problem is there.

When you say empty your temp directory, where is it? What is it really? I tried to empty out my so-called temp. directory, but am still very unlucky. Is there any other directory that I should rather go instead? Can you pls show or tell me how?

Thanks a million!

Cheers,
Vic

Your Temp directory on WinXP should be somehwhere like: C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Local Settings\Temp. You need to turn on Show Hidden Files to see it. There may also be a C:\Windows\Temp directory.

Reboot, search for *.tmp files and delete them. (rebooting first makes sure none of the files are needed or in use by something).

Reboot, search for *.tmp files and delete them. (rebooting first makes sure none of the files are needed or in use by something).

the problem is probably with an old installation’s executables (setup.exe, setup.bin, etc) being in the temp directory and confusing the cs installer. so you really need to find and delete everything in there, not just tmp files. but as rob says, if you do a search, that should give you a good idea of where the temp directory is located on your system. (in addition to the docs and settings and windows folder, there might be a c:\temp)

another thing to try is to copy the photoshop folder off the cd onto your desktop and run setup from there.
