Hello

Here is an email I just sent to tech support at www.totaltraining.com

I’ve been corresponding with a man named Jeff Ritter from Total Training on Quicktime 6.5.2 and not being able to see the video. I was bidding on TT for Adobe Photoshop CS2 on ebay but since I can’t get my video to work I cancelled the bid. I recently upgraded to Photoshop CS2 and would love to get your training videos. Here is a list of things I have tried so far. I have a lot of time and calling tech support but still no luck. I would appreciate any help you can give me.

1 )Reformmated the hard drives and did a clean install.
2) Edit > Preferences > QuickTime Preferences and from the drop down list choose Browser Plug In. Click MIME settings. Put a check in Video – Video only and audio file formats….
3) Quicktime Settings/Video Settings/Safe Mode (GDI Only)
4) http://www.apple.com/quicktime/troubleshooting/
Everything works fine on this website even total training.com there steaming videos work but I can not get certain MOV files to work.
5) Made sure that Quicktime is only associated with the file type MOV
6) Uninstalled other applications that might conflict with quick time like Ahead Nero Showtime and other Ahead Nero program. No difference Apple Tech support said these programs would not effect quicktime.
7) Installed the Default updated drivers for my ATI Radeon 9600. Apple
Tech support suggested this. No difference no video.
8) I talked to Apple Tech Support about my problem and they basically told me to update my video drivers which I did and no difference.

Since I am having so much problems trying to get my Quicktime Movies to work is there a way in your Total Training videos that I can use Nero Showtime (Latest Version)instead of quicktime. Do you use a Bat file or something like that, that will tell your program to use Nero Showtime instead of quicktime to view the movies. I think this is the only thing I can suggest as I’ve run out of ideas to try. I would love to buy your videos and get going on my training.

I bought a video from http://www.designsbymark.com/ called Mark’s 101 Awesome Photo Tips DVD. Some of his MOV files work with the video and others do not. The funny thing is the videos work fine with the sound and video on my laptop but yet I get no video on most of his mov files when I play the same program on my home computer. I went to his forum asking for help but never got a response back.

I thought about buying the pro version of Quicktime software but there is no point in doing this if I can’t get the movies to play. I have spent countless hours trying to get this to work with no avail. I also installed Quicktime 7 and had no luck either.

I know this is the Photoshop Forum but since I am trying to get a video dealing with Photoshop CS2 I figured and hoped this might be the correct place to try. I have run out of options to try. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks for your help

Michael
