I dont know what cheramic effect is. Do you have a pic of the effect you are going for?

Ceramic is where fancy tea cups/soucers are made of. You know, the stuff that sounds so well when dropped on the floor by accident 🙂
I believe it’s "Ceramic" in America, and "China" in England. It’s "Porcelein" here in Holland.

That said, I don’t understand what Thrappa wants to know. Maybe Thrappa comes back to explain this further.

here in the us, ceramic (as in the dishes kind, not the floor tile kind) is usually much corser and sturdier than china. like everyday-ware vs. special occasion-ware.

By "ceramic" I meant a something like china, porcelein, or any glazed pottery (from Spode and Royal Dalton to Armetage Shanks – oh, and the white disks you see on older power cables near the poles).

Here’s a link to an example:

It’s the clear shine effect I find hard to get.

Thanks for your interest…

google. in addition to trying photoshop tutorial ceramic, you can also try the words "gel button" as that’s a common tutorial that provides that "clear shine" effect.

Ah yes, I see now…

….well here’s what I did…

Needs a little practise. Thanks for the tips, layering as like gel buttons seems to be the key.

looks nice… getting there. might look more realistic if the logo was inlaid (like ceramic tile) among tiles of a different color making a background. like the white area around it could be tiled too…

Looks nice!

Have you already tried how it sounds?

(oops sorry, my evil mind again)
