My company is seriously considering scrapping its darkroom in favour of a direct-to-negative system. Being completely in the dark about these sorts of systems, can anyone recommend a good site for gathering information about them as well as any reputable companies that sell systems?

Thanks!

Assuming that you are discussing a "direct to negative" printer for making offset printing plates, I think that you will probably get much better response in the USENET Group named

It is totally unclear what you are talking about.

Do you mean a system for taking a picture and imaging it to 35mm or medium-format film? Or are you simply talking about an imagesetter–a printer that prints to film instead of to paper?

There are many good devices for making 35mm negatives from computer images, and there are many good imagesetters. If you can post, in detail, what you are looking for, and what kind of work you do, and what your requirements are, we can make recommendations.

You won’t be completely in the dark, if they scrap the darkroom!!
