CS File Brouser – how do I access other drives like on PS 7?

In PS 7 I could easily access my external drive – a USB Cameramate. I could bring up pictures that I had just taken with my digital camera in on the compact flash drives. On the CS – under file brouser – you can’t access them there. I have to go to File, Open, and so on. I tried to change the parameters thru preferences, but couldn’t. How can I more easily get to the external drives and also why do they say that the file brouser is easier to use? Many thanks, sky
