Lost Transparency

I changed the color to part of an image using New Adjustment Layer. I have created a transparent background in my photoshop file. I used the Export Transparent Image feature but when I go into Illustrator and save as an .eps checking the transparent background box, I lose the transparent backgroud.

I select the image and copy in illustrator, then paste the image into another Illustrator file but there is a white box around the image.

I have never had a problem making my background transparent until I did the color change in my photo.

Can someone tell me what I need to do to keep the background transparent in Illustrator.

Thank you

If you’re using AI 9 or later, just save your file as a PSD and import that image into Illustrator.

JW,

Don’t do that. Place the original EPS file.

But, unless you are using an old copy of Illustrator, there is little reason to be using clipped EPS’s at all, as Illustrator from ver.9 will handle full transparency from PSD files
