How did you achieve such dramatic contrast. Did you fiddle with the levels a lot? I find a lot of my b&w digitals (Canon G5) are too gray.

Hi Mod, I use the dodge and burn brush to get that contrast, and also a little unsharp mask.

Really good shots Jeff. I have a few ‘tricks’ I use as well. One is to use a gradient mask on the sky
and adjust the brightness/contrast (so it is darker near the top). I also have a nifty little trick for
clouds… I do the ‘gaussian blur/glamour shot’ trick’, then on the blurred layer, I use the eraser to ‘expose’ the cloud details. (erase the edges to expose the sharp details) It gives it a dreamy gothic feeling, but the details you want to focus on pop out. HTH

Really good shots Jeff. I have a few ‘tricks’ I use as well. One is to use a gradient mask on the sky
