Hi all

We have a user at our place using adobe photoshop 7.0. Due to our group policies users cannot access stuff from the c: drive which is causing problems when attempting to open files and access some components. Is there anywhere to change default file locations within the program and transfer files from the local c: to an area on the lan which the user has permissions to access?

Any help will be very much appreciated as I have never done anything but install photoshop 7.0!

Many Thanks
Colin

My suggestion is to make an exception for this user. Working with graphics files across a network is not a good idea.

Colin,

For the program to be Windows XP Logo compliant it MUST store user preferences in %system%\Documents and Settings\~Username\

That is a Microsoft mandatory requirement.

I think your IT people need to rethink their policies….

I don’t think Len meant %system%, since nothing is supposed to get installed there anymore. I think he meant %appdata%.

But, yes, it’s a requirement. Note that the entire Documents and Settings folder can be migrated to another drive by the administrator. The user should always have write permission to their own folder.
