First let me thank Danny Raphael (see msg) for providing a solution of the "droplets don’t work in Photoshop CS". I was having the same problem and his solution worked for me.

Now am experiencing a problem with having an "Image size" dialog box stop the droplet (or action) until I have manually responded to it. In the Action toolbar, the dialog on/off icon for this action is also grayed-out. This problem is negating the value of the droblets for me. Any solutions?

In your action where the image is resized, try using Insert Menuitem from the Actions Palette.

So you would target the Image Size step of the action, click on the triangle in the actions palette menu, and choose Insert Menuitem. Then do Image|Image Size. That will place a resize dialog in your action that you can toggle off. Then delete the resize step you had previously.

Tony,

No luck. It is still grayed out and cannot be toggled off. Created a new action with just the ‘Image size’ for an action with same result.

If I should reload Photoshop CS, am afraid PS droplets won’t work again.

Well, I’m using version 7, not CS, so I’m not certain if that may be an issue. That said, "yes" it works for me either way – with or without insert menuitem.

So let’s go through this for giggles and grins.

Have an image open. Create a new action. Call it Image Resize. This is just for testing purposes. Now, you are recording. Image|Image Size, change params, say OK. Stop recording.

Look at the action pallet. Next to the action name, you have two colums. One is for whether or not that action is active, the other is for the dialog box toggle. What is the status of both of those boxes?

Let’s answer that and take it from there.

Peace,
Tony

I can’t seem to get a clear answer (in plain English) on what a droplet is and what it’s purpose is …

a droplet is just a batch command (a batch runs actions on multiple images) that’s been compiled into an executable windows program, allowing you to interact with it from the windows desktop (like drag and drop).
