I have a piece of paper that has a design that I want to use as a background for a printed piece that I am designing (offset work). What is the proper method to scan this for my use? Do I simply scan it at 300 DPI for this purpose??

I always make it a habit to scan at a higher res than my output, and then reduce/edit in PS as necessary, but I don’t know that you’d screw the pooch for scanning it in at 300 and providing it at 300. Other than that, the parameters for the scan are image dependant so, it’s hard to say.

Peace,
