I’ve been a happy Photoshop (PC) user since 1995. After CS my opions about Adobe’s finest have been changed a bit, it was buggier than 7.0 and had some questionable (aka useless) new features. Well, I hoped for a better future, but when you go down, you go down: After quick testing of CS2 I’m very dissapointed. One of the worlds best graphic software has gone bad, big time. New Photoshop is not the one anymore as it used to be, and so many years.

Here are few notes:

1) CS2 is slow as a snail
2) "Save as" leaves you to previous save, not a new one (MAJOR BUG, LOGIC ERROR – since in CS1)
3) Layer set have been renamed to Group (why?)
4) Duplicating a group autoadds a word "copy" to every single layer (MAJOR BUG). User has to erase "copy" from all layers one by one.
5) Layer / Layer Set linking (chain) is missing (why o’ why?)

These are serious bugs, illogical innovations and bad programming. I’ll stick with a version 7, because everything after that has been downhill. Adobe + Macromedia = Budobe Bugmedia.. 🙁

PS. BTW, Photoshop CS Mac version works fine…

AGREED

WHO CARES
3) Layer set have been renamed to Group (why?)
ONCE AGAIN…..WHO CARES
4) Duplicating a group autoadds a word "copy" to every single layer (MAJOR BUG). User has to erase "copy" from all layers one by one.
AND AGAIN…NO PROBLEM HERE
5) Layer / Layer Set linking (chain) is missing (why o’ why?)
NO ITS NOT……JUST SELECT THE LAYERS YOU WANT TO LINK
TOGETHER…..DIFFERENT TO CS….BUT NO BETTER OR WORSE METHOD.

JUST MY 2C WORTH.

The new layers functioning is absolutely WONDERFUL and was a lonnnnnnnngg time in coming. (Also) just being able to select layers/objects right on the canvas is wonderful as well. (like every other graphics program has been able to do for years.)

CS was good, CS2 is great. Runs like the wind too on my 3 year old Dell 4550
2.0 Ghz machine. Not slow in the least.

Millions of graphic designers. Bug is a bug, not a new feature.

3) Layer set have been renamed to Group (why?)
ONCE AGAIN…..WHO CARES

Once again, millions of graphic designers. The most characteristic word to describe a bunch of layers is definately Layer Set.

4) Duplicating a group autoadds a word "copy" to every single layer (MAJOR BUG). User has to erase "copy" from all layers one by one.
AND AGAIN…NO PROBLEM HERE

Only amateurs leave their layers without a name. If you work with layout of 50 layers these "copy 11 copy 4" extras are useless.

5) Layer / Layer Set linking (chain) is missing (why o’ why?)
NO ITS NOT……JUST SELECT THE LAYERS YOU WANT TO LINK
TOGETHER…..DIFFERENT TO CS….BUT NO BETTER OR WORSE METHOD.

I know, it’s Macromedia style and it stinks. With this new selecting feature you cannot leave fellow layers linked/marked and come back later and move ’em fast and easy. You have to select ’em again or put ’em to subgroups > longer tree aka longer time.

I wonder who the beta testers of CS2 are. Other Abobe has ignored their opinion or they are totally amateurs.
