Activation on 2nd machine — laptop

The Adobe license permits installing CS2 on
a 2nd portable home machine.

Does this create any activation hassles? Or
does the activation process notice it is a
portable, and proceed painlessly.

Frequently my kids are using the main machine
for homework, and it would be handy to have
CS2 on the laptop.

I have had CS2 installed on both a desktop and a laptop for a few months and have never had an activation problem.

I’ve encountered no hassles whatsoever with activation on my desktop and laptop. You might establish some rules for your kids so that they don’t run Photoshop at the same time you do – that’s a violation of the EULA.

Understood, but the machines are right next to
each other, so that should not be a problem.
