My copy of PS7 is acting weird – I have been trying to add a simple drop shadow to an image on a transparent backgroud. Everytime I create a new layer to work in and create the drop shaow, I seem to be locked – can’t get to the drop shaow adjustment window, can’t change layers, can’t delete history, can’t even quit out of the program. I have a small message across the top bar that says click and drag the shadow, which I can, but that;s about all I can do. Have had to force quit my way out.

MAC OS 10.3.9

All help gratefully appreciated.

Trash Preferences. Are you updated to 7.0.1?

Not understanding "click and drag the shadow"? Never seen that. Are you maybe talking about a Gradient?
