Borders and Text tooooooo ROUGH…!!

I have been using photoshop from past 3 years but I never came to know why sometimes all of a sudden when I open Photoshop and draw borders the borders are tooo rough with zigzag lines.

Today this thing is really effecting my design…
I wrote some text using the ‘ T ‘ tool and the letters are too rough why does this happen ?

please help

When setting text, you have the antialiasing choice of none, sharp, crisp, strong, and smooth. (shown in the top toolbar of PS7 and CS, I can’t recall in earlier versions). I imagine you have "none" selected. Also, you may be working in too low of a resolution.

You will also find if you look at the bottom of your screen, the % percentage is not within the confines of normal viewing. Photoshop works in increments of % regarding zoom application which means 15%, 25% 33% 50% 66.67% 75% 100% , all things appear normal but 27.39% will not.

Also, as Sandy has suggested, antialiasing can affect font viewing.

And my last suggestion. Your graphics card/on-board graphics card is possibly going. Reason? If it’s only after this long,(3 Years) chances are it may be going. However, I personally don’t know how to test it.
