I’m running PS 7.01 on XP pro.

Often, I will open an image to see some detail and then
close it without having made any changes.
Just in the past month or so, it has started asking if I want to save changes when I try to close the image even
though I literally just open it and, 5 seconds later, close it.

I don’t recall making any changes to any settings.

I spent some time trying to search for this problem on the board but couldn’t find anything.

Thanks for any help.

When opening a file, do you get a warning dialog about profiles?

If so, you have a mismatched profile, and by saving, you have converted that file to your working space.

I have profile warning turned off but,
I will check the rest of my color settings
and see if that makes a difference.
Thanks

Depending on the color management settings, turning off the profile warning may just means that PS is converting the image from one color space to your working color space and not warning you upon opening it. However when you ask to save the document, PS still knows it has been altered. Rgds, MM
