I’ve searched, but haven’t found the exact answer to my question. I’m using Photoshop 4.0. I’ve created a logo with a white background and I want to use it in a webpage. How do I make the white background transparent for when I insert the logo into the web page?

Thanks.

Nicholas,

You need to export to GIF89A and select the colour(s) you need to be transparent in the dialog box

I’ll try that. I appreciate the response. What part of Europe (or Canada) are you from? (Colour vs. color) 🙂

Okay, when I do what you instructed, the GIF image still has a background. What should it look like? Even though there appears to be a background, will it show up transparent when inserted into a web page?

Thanks,

Nick

Does PS4 have the "Export Transparent Image" wizard? I’m almost positive 5 did, but I can’t remember with 4.

Nick,

Easy way to find out – open it in your web browser…
