Hello,

Could someone out there please help me with something concerning Photoshop’s "Embedded Profile" popup window…?

I’ve had Photoshop 7/7.01 for over a year now with no real problems worth complaining about. Now I’ve just purchased a brand new system and for some reason that has totally excaped me, 8 out of every 10 pictures that I attempt to open up in Photoshop is presenting me with the "Embedded Profile" window opening up with the following messages…

1) The document "?????.psd" has an embedded color profile that does not match the current RGB working space.

2) RGB document "?????.jpg" does not have an embedded color profile.

With my previous system I would recieve one of the above messages with maybe 1 out of 25 pictures that I attempted to open up in Photoshop… Now, as I stated above, I’m getting 8 of these messages out of every 10 pictures I open up. I haven’t the faintest idea whats going on. I installed Photoshop the exact same way that I’ve done in the past. The only difference being that I’ve installed it on a brand new system this time.

Incase anyone needs the info on my current system here it is…

Pentium 4 3.0Ghz processor on an Intel Perl Pro motherboard 2Gigs of 3200 DDR-Sdram
128 Mg Xtasy Radeon 9600XT video card
Duel 120 Gig SATA hardrives "Raid & Striped" DVD/CD burner

Any and all help will be truely appreciated…

Thankyou for your time…

Jim…

You need to start by reading the manual. The dialogs are self descriptive, and the fact that they are presented at all is controlled by the color preferences that you set.

James,

You have your working space(s) colour space set differently now to how you had it previously when those images were saved.

For example, you used to have your RGB working space set to sRGB and you now have it set to AdobeRGB(1998) (or vice-versa, of course)
