Hello!

I have the portuguese(Brazil) version of Photoshop 7.0 and I have a problem. Whenever I transform a layer, the program creates a copy of it automatically, so I have to be deleting the old layer all the time. I had Photoshop 6.01 and it worked just fine. Can this function be disabled, what can I do to prevent this from happening?
Thanks a lot!

Please describe how you are doing the transform, step by step. There are several possibilities.

Usually I cut the part I want from a jpeg file, paste it into my master document and try to resize it by using the transform hotkey, ctrl+T. As soon as I drag it down to make it smaller, another copy of it is created. Really weird!

Lucy

I tried the following:

1) Open an image.

2) Create a new, blank image of the same size/rez.

3) Select an area in the 1st image and CTRL-C.

4) Move to new image and CTRL-V.

5) CTRL-T and drag corner to make it smaller.

Is that right?
I get no unexpected copying or new layers when I drag the corner.

Maybe you should try resetting prefs [see FAQ]. Odd PS behaviour is often fixed this way.

Thanks a lot Colin, I’ll try that!
