Hi!
I’ve got about 200 pics from a CD that I need to crop and resize, and draw a rounded corner with a 1 pixel purple stroke…

What a pain! Is their a way I can automate this process?

Hi Regina,

If you know the series of edits to perform, you can record an Action and perform the edits. So long as there are no brushstrokes (be it eraser, pencil, paintbrush, etc.) or randomly selected areas, the action should be able to record what you do. Once the action is saved, you can batch process the images with the action applied to them, or dreate a droplet to drag the images onto.

Note, if you literally have to draw that rounder corner, this may be more difficult. Also, this would need to be a process where all images are receiving the same crop and resize. I don’t know the series of edits to suggest, but just want to encourage you to at least give creating an Action a try.

Hey Regina:

As Daryl suggested, this could be done by involking actions through the File > Automate > Batch dialog. It’s somewhat of a tall order for one who’s not done this before, but definitely doable.

There are different ways to approach the stroke frame. It would just depend on the specific requirements.

I’ll be glad to help you if you’re interested or so inclinded. Send e-mail to

photoshopactions at yahoo.com and we can go from there.
