Ok, I tried running ImageReady CS for the first time. Photoshop CS runs fine.

When ImageReady is initiated it runs through the initialization routines until it reaches "Layer comps palette created…"

Then I get an error dialogue:

"Adobe ImageReady Error"
"Could not fully start the application. An unknown error has occurred."

I click on OK, and ImageReady closes.

I’m running on a Windows XP, Dual PIIIe 1000, w/ 2gB RAM, and two video cards going to two monitors. (one for palettes).

I’ve already tried completely uninstalling an re-installing PS CS as well as trashing the preferences.

Suggestions?

Right now, I’m really NOT happy I paid for the upgrade to CS.

Well, after spending a good deal of time online with Adobe tech support today, it’s an unresolved issue..

However, it has been escalated..

On a positive note the Tech Support person I worked with, and am working with, was one of the most knowledgeable, congenial, and most adept at altering the support level to my knowledge level that I’ve ever worked with at any firm.. He’s a good advertisement not outsourcing tech support overseas. I doubt many overseas tech support people could respond as adeptly to cultural clues, etc.

It’s been years since I needed to call Adobe tech support and I had frankly forgotten how exemplary it is.. Kudos to Adobe on this one.
