You’re correct, I don’t understand what you’re trying to do based on your questions.
But I do have a jewelry client that send me layouts and digital files on CD to go into the layouts, both for a printed catalog and then to go on the web. I teach him how to photograph the jewelry and he sends me the raw files to work on. Unless they want to pay the extra time it will take me to try and match names to hundreds of similar looking rings I’ve explained that the images need to be named correctly on his computer before burning to the CD to start with. Trying to rename images after a few sets of operations and saves is a nightmare. So much easier and less time consuming if the images are named correctly to start. And since he’s paying by the hour…
The other thing is that sometimes it’s much faster to manually rename images than waiting for an answer to a forum question on how to batch rename.
Getting back to the web page and my previous suggestion, I built web sites for artists to sell their art work from and would never create galleries named with numbers no matter what the client thinks they want. If the items are not searchable by subject or theme, they will not sell. The biggest problem with the web page you provided a link to is that you have to look at every item on the web site to find what you’re looking for. The numbers under the thumbnails don’t mean anything. Much easier to use a name of the subject instead of a number and put a search engine on the web site. You can get a free search engine from <
