Creating a clipped adjustment layers

Is there a way to created an adjustment layer that is automaticly "clipped" to the layer it was created for.

When I click on the adjustment layer icon and the new adjustment layer the dialog box opens and I have to close it before I can clip it to the layer I want it to affect and then
reopen it for adjusting. Is there a short cut key for this?

If I understand what you want to do correctly – hold down ALT (for Windows) while you click the Adjustment Layer icon, select the type of adjustment you want, in the option that appears next, tick the box to select clipping to the layer below, then use whatever adjustement layer you are creating as normal. When you apply it, the layer will only affect the layer directly beneath it.
