I use PS 7.0, Acrobat Writer 5 and Adobe GoLive 6. In the past few weeks when my PC (Win XP) tries to access Adobe Online for updates, I’ve been getting this error message:
………………………..
"Adobe Online Error

File could not be downloaded.

<http://cgi…tform=0DLLVer=2.8.3.3A0MVer=2.8.3.3>

There was a problem connecting to Adobe Online. Please check your network settings in the Internet Control Panel.

21:-124"
………………..

Advice on this in the Adobe Troubleshooting section – "check Internet Control Panel" – was of no help.

I do use ZoneAlarm (free) as a firewall, but closing it has not corrected my problem.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Turn off the update feature in your preferences. It hasn’t ever worked correctly!

Thanks. It’s comforting to learn I’m not alone.
