Well, I just upgraded to Photoshop CS and Adobe Gamma doesn´t load. The execute file does exist ( I can actually see It´s location ), but It´s not an openable file. I wonder if there is some way I could set it up. Any smart ideas will surely be appreciated! Thanks.

Do you have administrator privileges on the machine?

The default location for Adobe Gamma Loader.exe on WinXP is: ‘Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Calibration\’

In ‘Documents and Settings\{Your user name}\Start Menu\Programs\Startup’ you should have a shortcut to Adobe Gamma Loader pointing at ‘Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Calibration\Adobe Gamma Loader.exe’. Do you have that? The shortcut should load the monitor profile you’ve made with Adobe Gamma when Windows starts.

Allen,

Are you referring to Adobe Gamma Loader (which loads the monitor profile) or Adobe Gamma.CPL which allows you to CREATE the monitor profile?

If the latter, log on as Administrator and access via C/Panel>Adobe Gamma

I had the same problem. I had upgraded from Photoshop 6 to Photoshop CS. However, I had uninstalled Photoshop 6, so Gamma was gone… If you’re using a Photoshop CS upgrade and had previously uninstalled the earlier version, try this:

1) Uninstall Photoshop CS
2.) Reinstall Photoshop 6 (or whatever version)
3.) Reinstall Photoshop CS

If CS is an upgrade, it doesn’t include Gamma. (I saw the same Gamma file that you mentioned, too, but it wouldn’t open, either.) You see, CS assumes that you still have Gamma loaded in your previous version. I did what I outlined above and Gamma was up and running for me…

I don’t think that’s correct. I installed the upgrade on my desktop which had PS 7.0 installed and had no problem at all.

Additionally, I installed it on a new laptop that had no previous version adn Adobe Gamma most certainly is there.

That’s what I would have thought, too, Bob, but that is what Adobe Tech Support told me when I was trying to load Gamma. Regardless, my installation of Photoshop CS would not install Gamma for whatever reason. Reinstalling the prior version restored it and solved the problem.
