Im trying to emulate the look of hematite for some frame borders in a Flash presentation and I cant seem to get the look just right. Hematite looks like a metallic charcoal grey and it is very reflective–almost like chrome. Here is a page for anyone who may have a good idea about how to achieve this result but is unfamiliar with what hematite looks like. <http://www.gemhut.com/hematite.htm>

any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks much

It looks like what you’ll really have to emulate is the reflections – the actual substance looks easy – but it’s surroundings are what give it realism.

Go to adobe studio exchange and search under "metal". You should be able to get pretty close. It is free.

find a chrome style then play with that, you could even try using another pic blured a little as your reflection.
