HI

As my topic suggests, I want an action that chomps through a folder full of photos, adds a white border by increasing canvas size then stops and pops up a message prompting the user to type a caption on the border before continuing.

I can build an action that does most of that, except that with the prompt on screen I cant access the tool bar to select the type tool.

I am trying this in PS4. Is it possible, and if not can later versions of PS achieve it?

Many thanks for your help……….Jon

erm…just answering my own question after further fiddling. Choosing ‘stop’ at the text prompt allows text tool to be accessed and caption written, then selecting ‘play’ on the actions pallette continues the action (flatten – save – close).

But let me know of anything more elegant…..Jon

Can’t say about version 4, but versions 5.5 and up can do it. In those version, one could include the recording of the text in the action, but when you’re finished recording, toggle the dialog to OFF in the actions palette, then the action will stop until the user enters and accepts the text – I just don’t know if version 4 has that feature.

Peace,
Tony
