What is the best way to do Blue Screen processing in Photoshop? If a plug-in is the answer, which low cost plug-in do people recommend?

I assume you mean chromakeying, not BSOD (easiest way to do that is install Win98).

Bert Monroy in a book "Photoshop Channel Chops" 1998 gives 20 pages to blue screen/green screen compositing.

I do this all the time in my job for fun photos in photobooths, save the blue screen area as a selection, then save as a Targa, want any more help just shout.

You may need the targa plugin depending on you version of PS

Corel Knockout would be the easiest. Channel selection would be the cheapest. (along with Extract)

Very cool, though I’m burning you at the stake for witchcraft.

Other than that, I’ve a big HTML/XHTML text on its way to me from a quasi-client gratis for services rendered next week and had no idea this voodoo would be in there. I’ll see if I can come up with a code to open a second browser for the link as I sometimes prefer that – though not always.

Thank you Phospor,
Adam.

1) Double click on the background to convert it to a layer
2) With the Eye Dropper Tool select the most dominant blue in the picture.
3) Open color Range, Set the fuzziness slider to about 90 (I use 200 with a very evenly lit green Background.(Experiment.)
4) Add to this selection using the +Color Sampler. Make sure that Invert is Not Selected and you have Selection marked and not Image (It’seasier this way)
5) Go to Select>Modify>Expand and use 3 pixels. (again experiment. It depends on the resolution of your picture)
6) Now Edit>Feather 2 pixels.
7) Finally, Edit>Cut.

Look at this Site. Click on Teps 2000 Event Demo: go through all the steps. <http://www.triprism.com/products/demos.html>

" Very cool, though I’m burning you at the stake for witchcraft."

Heh heh heh.

I’ve been teaching people in forums how to make the short links for years, just so they can act in a more considerate manner toward other viewers. In these forums, though, I think the short text links don’t work for visitors who participate via News Readers. The large majority of Adobeforums visitors view the web-based version, so it’s just a matter of leaning toward the most prudent compromise.

And, about opening those links in a new browser window, automatically?

<u>Put Short Text Here</u></a>

Me, I always open them in a new Tab. I’m running Mozilla primarily, and tabbed browsing is one of those features that, after using it for 5 minutes, made me wonder how I ever got along before that feature’s existence.

The one Alpha Papa posted above works for me in an NNTP News Reader.

I use a plug in called Primatte by Digital Anarchy. Here is a review <http://www.creativepro.com/story/news/20728.html> . You can also download a demo to see for yourself from the Primatte website. The new and improved version 2 lets you put the keyed primatte on a seperate layer. You can put it on any background you want without Primatteing again.
