Hi

When trying to open a PS 7 .psd file, it says that it is not compatible with this version of Photoshop.

Does anyobe know how I can retrieve this file? or encountered this before?

As it happens, I’ve been working on this for 2 months and it was to go out the door today 🙁

Thanks for your time.

You mean you saved the file yourself, then came back and it wouldn’t open again?

How big is the image [approx in pixels]?

Have you tried resetting prefs? It is amazing what PS oddities this can address.

Its a big image: 10000×7000 pixels at approx 400mb. Although, I have worked successfully with images twice the size.

You are correct – I saved it, shut down, opened it and found the error. I was able to open it using Irfan view – but the image was black. Although, I can see a thumb nail of it in pshop.

I tried resetting the preferences but it still sings to its corrupt tune. I do actually save a seperate back up file each day in case of this scenario, thank goodness it wasn’t longer.

I have also found that investing in an external drive with 80Gb capacity has been a god send to back up my system and keep it isolated from the main machine.

Thanks anyway.
