I am having a problem enabling image files to display as thumbnails. I use photoshop 7 and have set all settings as described in the manual and have set all Windows settings as far as I know correct. I have rebooted several times. When clickcking on a folder there the View as Thumbnails option is selected, but they do not appear as thumbnails. I have photoshop 7 set to save as thumbnails always. Using Win 98. Any ldeas as to what may be going on?
Thank you.

Valerie,

Is this with all file-types or just PSD’s?

Setting Maximize Backward Compatibility in the File Save Preferences solved the problem for me.

I’ve set photoshop 7. to open with psd and tiff files, with thumbnails checked.

I’ve set maximize compatibilty like you’ve said.. but I don’t see a ‘backward compatibilty’ in the file save as preference settings.
what am I missing??

Looked it up in PS6. It says:

Maximize backwards combatibility in Photoshop format.

Might be the same in PS7.

You must also close and reopen PS in order Preferences take effect.

Open one of your pictures and do a "Save As" and say yes if prompted if you want to override the file. Now take a look if you can see the thumbs.

You did not answer Len’s question. There might be the problem. Please read this.
