Has anyone had experience importing text from the DavkaWriter word processor into Photoshop using non-English fonts?

DavkaWriter is basically a sophisticated MS Word clone that supports numerous non-English languages, bi-lingual typing etc., including the right-left flowing Hebrew and Arabic writing style.

Is it possible to import text from Davka into Photoshop and what methods have poeple used?

An esoteric thread I know – but maybe someone out there knows!

Thanks,
Adam.

There is Photoshop ME (Middle East)

I once used a tool called EasyHEB that would reverse the text pasted from a word processor but I’m not sure that it runs under WinXP.

Thanks Fran PSME looks very cool as it handles English as perfectly as PSUS. But the US investment has been made as is unfortunately.

A program like Adobe InDesign "ME" edition has many import filters. Once the text is imported and formatted, you can save as EPS for import into English PhotoShop, but you could not edit the Hebrew text after it’s been saved as EPS.

If you are dealing with a limited amount of Hebrew text, you can use English encoded HEBREW fonts, which will function in any English program, including English PhotoShop. In this approach you type Hebrew backwards or with arrow key, "a" = Aleph, "b" = Beit. -Mark
