Hello,

I would like to apply a gradient with transparency to a gradient map, thus so that all my blacks in the gradient map target turn out to be transparent, and the other colors behave according to the gradient. Thus, I am interested in using the gradient map to knock out black from the gradient map target, while still applying the rest of the gradient map gradual gradient transparency to the other shades all the way to white.

I have not been able to select such a gradient for my gradient map. Even though I have the gradient with a transparency transition selected, all the pixels turn opaque. Is this what is supposed to happen?? Isn’t the gradient map capable of applying/using gradients with transparency?

No, gradient map does not work with transparency.

How can I get around this? How can I simulate it?
