Hi:
Photoshop CS (8), when I use the ‘replace color’ with the ‘preview’ box checked, I can’t see it change color or hue on the actual image – which I need.
I always could do this in PS 7.
The ‘replace color’ is one of my most used tools. Between that and Selective color and brightness/contrast, I don’t really use ‘Levels’ as they are time consuming for me as I am not good at them.

I need to see the color in ‘replace color’, change directly on my artwork as I am sliding the fuzziness, hue, saturation, and lightness sliders.
Am I missing something?…..what I am i doing wrong?
Thanks….Tom

Tommo…

I haven’t upgraded to CS yet, so I can’t help you, but I can say that I have no particular dislike for you. Be patient…someone will come along with an answer…

….its all because I mistakenly put a blue faced smiley by accident……and some people took offence…….get over it guys!…..I know it was rude, but I’ve seen worse.

Tommo – it works just the same as it did in 7 and earlier (well, except for the new color swatch and a little UI rearrangement). It does show the effect on the original image when the preview checkbox is checked.

….and the fact that you don’t see the change in that dialog indicates a problem.

Try trashing your preference files by holding down the ctrl+alt+shift keys immediately after launching Photoshop.

When asked if you want to delete your Photoshop settings file, say yes. This will reset Photoshop to its factory defaults.

If that does not work, reinstall.
